Google Binoculars

Building off of the Google Web Lab Teleporters, Google wanted to create a unique experience for the Sydney Opera House’s 40th Anniversary. Tellart created the solution incorporating the iconic Tower Optical Binoculars, but giving it a modern digital twist. The eyepieces show you a Google Street View from a different UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rotating and tilting the binoculars allows you to “look around” the other site. The coin lever changes scenes.

Role: Developer, Python software to integrate sensor information and display. Researched and developed how to allow user to focus on a screen 4 inches from their face, including screen image splitting, lenses, and adjustments.
