Creative Lobby Display Commemorating Major Donation
In 2017, the New England Aquarium was looking for an impactful way to acknowledge and commemorate an amazingly generous donation from the Anderson Cabot family for their new Center for Ocean Life. They had several goals for the piece: to highlight the ocean life on display, commemorate the generosity, and brighten up an often gloomy lobby, all for a small price tag. We concepted, designed, and installed the display which ended up consisting of 3 TVs, masked and framed to minimize it looking like 3 TVs, 3 media players, custom hardware and mounting, and a fully custom mosaic generation software, all within budget.
Role: Project Manager, Concept Development, Mosaic Creation, Software Development, Fabrication and Installation Management.
I measured and scoped out the site, walked the client through multiple concept generation phases, programmed the custom mosaic generation software, helped them curate thousands of photos for the mosaic, assisted installation, and managed the install and troubleshotting phase.
